Mediated Realities: From Panopticon to Participatory Art
Studio MMR’s installation for PST ART: Art & Science Collide recontextualizes urban surveillance as a generative design paradigm. This interactive piece challenges the dystopian narrative often associated with smart city technology, instead exploring the artistic potential of ubiquitous sensing. By leveraging a suite of sensory inputs—depth sensors, streaming cameras, and environmental data—processed through advanced machine vision algorithms and neural networks, the result is a dynamic, real-time spatial synthesis that evolves in response to viewer interactions and environmental flux.
The installation will be on throughout the day with a presentation and Q&A between 3-4pm and Studio MMR creators will be in attendance between 2-5pm.
Presented by The Loft at Liz's Fine Art Gallery & Liz's Antique Hardware - a participating gallery in PST ART: Art & Science Collide.
