Urban Garden Bioblitz Challenge Art and Nature Day
Join Self Help Graphics & Art and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County for a day of nature exploration and art workshops at Magic Johnson Park in Willowbrook. What’s a bioblitz?
It’s a community science event where people gather to record as much data as possible about what species live in an area. Join the NHM Community Science team to explore the biodiversity in the park, learn from bugs and bats exhibitions, and drop in for art workshops led by SHG’s artist in resident Zoe Blaq (Urban Soul Farm). There will also be educational booths by LA Compost, TAWA Food Rescue, and the Willowbrook Community Garden.
This program will take place at Earvin "Magic" Johnson Park 905 E. El Segundo Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90059.
Presented in conjunction with PST ART: Art & Science Collide exhibitions Sinks: Places We Call Home presented by Self Help Graphics & Art at the Luckman Gallery at Cal State Los Angeles and Reframing Dioramas: The Art of Preserving Wilderness presented by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
