Inspired by the Appropriate Technology movement of the 1970s, Breath(e) artist Lan Tuazon explores the movement's continuation today through open-source technologies, DIY, and grassroots environmental actions. In this workshop, Tuazon will join artist Richard Wilks, and environmental organizers Marcus Rosenthal and Armando 'Mondo' Ochoa (1plasticlife) to demonstrate how they are building communities to tackle the global plastic pollution crisis.

This workshop will present four perspectives on plastics and the circular economy, showcase material samples, operate Precious Plastics machines, and issue a call to action. Join us in building the collective force we need to retool our future and build climate resiliency. This workshop will have a limited capacity, check back soon to register for one of our sessions at 12pm or 1:30pm.

Presented in conjunction with the Hammer Museum at UCLA's PST ART: Art & Science Collide exhibition Breath(e): Toward Climate and Social Justice.
