Exhibiting three artists employing macro and micro frameworks to identify the continuum between outer space, inner space and human constructs we build in order to understand and explain the infinite. Greg Colson is recognized for assemblage that explores physical and intellectual systems that he distills via pie-charts and models constructed of mundane materials. His Heliocentric Models consist of solar system wall reliefs in which the Sun and orbiting planets are depicted with soccer, baseball and billiard balls. James Griffith’s paintings of celestial bodies are painted with tar from the La Brea Tar Pits, a fossil product of geologic time that comes full circle in the depiction of life origins. Rose-Lynn Fisher’s photographs through a microscope parallel William Blake holding infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour. A gallery talk with former Jet Propulsion Laboratory Artist in Residence David Em, will be moderated by Dina Chang.
