Adult Art Class: Exploring Natural Inks
Get inspired by artwork on view in LACMA's PST ART: Art & Science Collide exhibition We Live in Painting: The Nature of Color in Mesoamerican Art and discover the art of making natural inks using flowers, fruits, seeds, bark, and metals. Artist Patricia Yossen, who creates her own inks from locally sourced materials, will lead a guided exploration of the exhibition and a demonstration of color extraction techniques, pH experimentation, and ink application. The session will also explore the connections between place, ecology, and artistic practice.
This program will take place outdoors on LACMA’s campus. Parking validation and supplies are provided. Please note parking validations are only valid for the Pritzker Parking Garage on 6th Street.
